Here is your opportunity to get some $$ back for doing a project to improve our water quality on Eagle/Pike Lake.   This has been approved for all Lakes in Maple Grove.  So get in your project early before the funding runs out.  Here is the process:

#1.  Fill out attached application form ASAP.  See application for details.  The Water Quality Committee will review and will notify you of approval.
Here are a few ideas:
–Creating rain gardens and/or buffer zone of natural vegetation along the shoreline
Downspout retrofits (rerouting rooftop drainage to vegetated areas)
Sump pump retrofits (rerouting sump pumps that drain to vegetated areas)
Erosion control (fixing small erosion problems)
Driveway drains (installation of drains in driveways that allow the water to drain to vegetated areas or rain gardens)
berms or other structures to direct runoff
#2.  Begin/continue project.  You will have to pay for all the cost up front and then will be reimbursed up to 50% of the total cost up to $750. Save all receipts, invoices, cancelled checks (front/back) for reimbursement.

#3.  When project completed, send in all receipts, invoices, cancelled checks and completion picture to ELPA water committee.  We will then send these to the city for reimbursement.  Of note, it may take up to 3 months for reimbursement. Complete details of the process will be sent out with the approval of your project.

Few notes:
#1.  This grant DOES NOT cover lake week removal.
#2.  If you applied for the grant and it was approved last year, you are ineligible this year.

You can send your application to any one of the ELPA Board Members and we will work on getting it processed.
